What is Reiki? Reiki is an energy healing modality and the sessions help to relieve stress, promote relaxation, clear energy blockages and ease pain. It can benefit the recipient with increased awareness, insight, wisdom and personal growth. Reiki treatments work well on both humans and animals.

Reiki was founded by Dr Mikao Usui, in Japan, in the early 1900s. Chujiro Hayashi then began studying with Usui in 1925 and is known as the 2nd Grand Master of Reiki History. He employed Reiki to treat his patients whilst he was a naval physician and went on to initiate and train Mrs. Hawayo Takata, who brought Reiki to the West in 1937. Translated from Japanese it means Spiritual Energy.

Emma Hands is a Usui Ryoho Reiki Master & Teacher and adores aiding others to find inner peace and to live happier, more fulfilling lives.Everyone has a different experience with Reiki healing and feelings that may surface: Emotional response; feeling hot or cold; seeing colours or lights; stomach rumbling, involuntary movements or falling asleep. These all occur as the body heals and re-energises. Do not be alarmed if the benefits are not immediately apparent, changes can be experienced in the days afterwards.

One of Emma’s many passions is helping your pets with healing, deep relaxation, stress relief and their development, as with human Reiki. When animals have experienced traumas from abuse, loss, a move or exhibit depression or behavioural problems then Reiki can help, it is a very effective therapy for your animals. Animal Reiki works well alongside Veterinary care when they are not in optimum health. Animals are very intuitive (as I am sure you know!) and are particularly receptive to Reiki energy. If they do bark, growl or run away because they are in too much pain and discomfort then distance Reiki can be used to help alleviate the pain and trauma. Reiki can be used on animals of all ages and is good for palliative care, for both patient and owner. Do get in touch if you have any questions.

Please note: Reiki does not constitute medical advice. Reiki cannot be used with a pacemaker and for anyone with diabetes, they must be dedicated to monitoring their blood sugar levels daily following the treatment.
